Connect Four

Objective

Be the first to connect four of your own discs in a line. horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.

Rules

• Red always goes first
• On your turn, click or tap a column to drop a disc into it
• Discs fall to the lowest empty slot in that column due to gravity
• The first player to line up four discs in a row wins
• If the board fills with no winner, the game is a draw

Game Modes

• vs AI. Play against the computer. You are Red, the AI is Yellow
• 2 Player. Play against a friend on the same device

AI Difficulty

• Easy. AI drops discs mostly at random
• Medium. AI takes obvious wins and blocks your winning moves
• Hard. AI looks several moves ahead using a minimax search

Controls

• Click or Tap a column. Drop your disc
• 1-7. Drop into that column
• N. New Game

Strategy Tips

• Playing the center column early gives you the most lines to work with
• Build threats in two directions at once to force a double attack your opponent can't block
• Always block your opponent when they have three in a row with an open end
• Watch for diagonal threats. they are the easiest to miss
